SF Rental Assistance Programs
Important! If you have received legal eviction papers (called an "Unlawful Detainer") from the Superior Court, go to the Eviction Defense Collaborative (EDC) at 995 Market (947-0797 but don't call, go there in person) immediately for help filing the proper response forms. Their office is located at 995 Market/6th, hours of operation are from 9:30-11:30am and 1-5pm.
The programs listed below may help you pay for housing costs in an emergency. They may also help with back rent, deposits, or first and last month's rent.
